What is Water Wellbeing?
|
We’d all like to be healthier and fitter: to eat ‘smarter’, to take a bit more exercise, to improve our ability to fight off bugs and germs, and to combat the stress and fatigue of everyday life. If you’re an employer, you’ll also be very aware of the negative effects of ill-health on productivity, employee morale and the overall profitability of your business, not to mention the increasing pressure on employers to recognise the ‘duty of care’ they owe their workforce. At Water, our focus is on the positive effects that adequate hydration can have on physical and mental health and wellbeing, both at work and at home. But we also appreciate that it’s just one way we can all improve our health and make ourselves happier. The problem has always been that it’s very difficult – and expensive – to know exactly how unhealthy and unfit we actually are! If we only had a start point - an accurate, reliable and readily accessible benchmark - we might all have a better idea of what action we could take to improve our own health. That’s why we’ve now set up a new special division here at Water that utilises just such a tool - a unique interactive health kiosk called the Water Wellpoint – to allow individuals to self-test themselves at work using six key indicators of their general health. These ‘vital signs’ – Weight, Hydration Quota, Body Mass Index, Body Fat Content, Heart Rate and Blood Pressure – are measured simply and accurately in around 5 minutes, with a print-out of the results showing how they compare with accepted medical standards. It’s quick, easy and invaluable both as an early-warning system for potential problems and as a way for each individual to appreciate the areas they can work on to improve their personal health and wellbeing. |
